Trends And Details For Your Wedding Day

Hello all, can you believe we are nearing the end of March already?

Life has been very busy, in February I hosted my first blogger workshop entitled "Enhance What's your". Myself and Roanna, a fellow blogger and friend decided to combine both our blogs together to bring women the ultimate girls day out.

Our workshop featured fashion & bridal shows, wedding tips, dressing for your shape, makeup/ hair, skincare demo and fitness talk. With amazing goody bags and afternoon tea, sure what more could you want?

It was an amazing experience and it showed us that you don't need to be a big blogger to make an impact. After a lot of planning, support and dedication we got there, We both felt super proud of such an achievement.

Which leads me to this post at the workshop, I spoke about establishing your wedding story. Some of the elements I focused on were around wedding trends and adding details. I am going to share some of my tips with you now.

Hope you enjoy.

Trends:

They exist and they change every year. My advice is, do not get hung up on them. Take elements from "The Trends"  if you want and if you like a color or a detail that was so last year, go with it if you like it and it fits into your wedding.

Greenery is the color for 2017, which is set by Pantone, who set a color each year. Greenery symbolizes "A refreshing and revitalizing shade, Greenery is symbolic of new "  Do not think of the harsh Patricks Day green, it embodies all of the tones shown below. It is earthy, soft, clean and warm.

You can easily add a sprinkle of greenery to your wedding if you like it e.g. wedding invitations, table plan, flowers, table settings, name cards, centerpieces etc.

Dramatic entrance:

This is one trend that I am seeing more and more. It creates a beautiful frame to your ceremony or dinner entrance. Adding in draping softens an entrance and creates a sense of romance. The ivy and rose detail featurted below lift up and highlight the pathway to your story.

Signage:

Another big trend among brides and grooms is adding that pop of Hollywood to your venue. Lovin Letters supply an amazing range of letters and they kindly supplied letters for our Enhance What's yours Workshop. It felt so cool to have or name in lights.

Some couples dot signage throughout their wedding day. Signage can be used as a prop for photographs as you and your wedding party are getting ready. Used right they make for a great picture. You can also use signage on location e.g. before the ceremony and after, on your cake or feature table, entrance to the venue or in the reception of the venue. Really look at your wedding path and decide on where you add in this detail.

Below are some examples of signage.

Another trend under signage is Table Plan designs. This is an element that brides and grooms are getting more into, again they are wanting to create that eye-catching piece. Have a look at  Table Plan Designs, they offer a bespoke service catering for your needs, Pauls designs are very fabulous.

Details:

Adding detail will help to make your wedding day pop, What I would say is, do not add too much detail, as it can consume your venue or ceremony location. Add enough to make a statement and be clear on what you want.  The choices are huge so you need to be focused because Pinterest and Etsy are so fabulous they can add to the "I want it all syndrome".

A detail brides and grooms are loving are stations for their guests. These stations can be in place before or after the ceremony. e.g. Popcorn bar, pizza making station, candy floss, ice cream van, fish and chips, sweet station, cocktail making station or a dessert table instead of a cake. The list goes on and on having these stations is also a great way for guests to mix and they are fun.

Balloons:

The are another detail that more brides & grooms are adding to their day. Fabulous for a rustic venue, garden party, barn or a festival themed wedding. These images are from Balloons for You.

Selfie Station:

We live in the era where selfies are the done thing. If you're the kinda bride or groom that love a selfie or group picture then why not add it into your wedding day.

Backdrops make a great feature for this and they are popping up a lot in weddings. In terms of design think floral, lighting, festival, draping. Here are some images below to inspire you.

Flormar Revolution Lipstick In Burgundy Mission

I was delighted to receive a sample of the Revolution lipstick in burgundy mission, along with the lip liner to match. These were Kindly sent from RDC Communications. Flormar was launched this year in Ireland and it has proven to be a huge success and a popular choice for those who want affordability and quality.

I tested this lipstick out over Christmas, as I am trying to be more adventurous and try out stronger colours, as I normally tend to stick with nude tones. This lipstick is a rich berry colour with blue undertones, having these undertones makes your teeth appear whiter.
"Revolution is Flormar premium lipstick containing shea butter, cocoa, olives, a super pigment and easy 8 hr staying power".
Application Tips:
Before application ensure your lips are in good condition especially in this harsh weather. Exfoliate to remove any dry skin and apply vaseline regularly to keep them conditioned. I applied setting powder to my lips before application, this can help prolong …

Ardgillan Castle Wedding Venue Feature

Hello all, I hope you enjoyed reading my first venue feature as I am really enjoying it. I have felt so welcomed by the venues that I have visited so far.  Please feel free to share and spread the word if this feature is of interest to any engaged couples you know. (These posts are not sponsored) and you can also follow my blog on Facebook  |  Instagram  |Twitter | Snapchat | Pinterest

On Thursday 2nd  June I went to visit venue number two, the breathtaking Ardgillan Castle. Located between Balbriggan & Skerries. If you have ever visited here you will understand what I mean. Everytime I go to Ardgillan I literally fall in love with it all over again. Whether I go for coffee in the tea rooms, bring my daughters to the  playground or just walk around the grounds. I adore it and Ardgillan was recently featured on Lovin Dublin as the best park in Dublin to visit, now that's pretty cool.

So onto the beautiful Castle, I met with Ann-Marie and Danielle and we chatted about the venue …

Finally Contouring is getting the push

Anyone else as happy as me to see that contouring is not as popular in the makeup world. I personally could never get used to it. I think it looks amazing in photographers or on a night out when done right. If you prefer a more heavy look. I believe strobing has been around before it was just called highlighting then. So do not be confused!!!

For me I prefer a more natural look when it comes to makeup. The whole idea with strobing is that you can see the skin and it is not heavily covered up.
I have been using the Mac Strobe Cream for a few months now. You can also strobe with powder.

What I like about Mac Strobe?

It makes the skin look radiant, fresh and healthy (for tired Mammies like me it's a must) It's easily applied. It's a no fuss product, there is no messing with it. It can be worn alone or added after foundation is applied. With some blush you are good to go.
